Michael Strahan played defensive end for the New York Giants for 15 seasons from 1993-2007. One of the most dominating defensive players of his era, Strahan was seven times named to the Pro Bowl and four times named a first-team All-Pro. He twice led the league in sacks in 2001 and 2003 and was named in 2001 the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, the first Giants player to be so honored since Lawrence Taylor. Strahan set an NFL single-season record of 22.5 quarterback sacks in 2001 and he totaled 141.5 sacks for his career, a number that ranks him sixth all-time in NFL history behind Bruce Smith, Reggie White, Kevin Greene, Julius Peppers and Chris Doleman. Strahan was part of the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII-winning team that defeated the New England Patriots, 17-14. He is a member of the Giants Ring of Honor and had his jersey #92 retired by the team in xxxx. He became a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.

Born on November 21, 1971 in Houston, Texas, Strahan moved to Germany at 9 years old when his father got stationed there with the Army. He came back to the United States for part of his high school years and went on to play college football at Texas Southern University, where he was named an All-American, Division I-AA Defensive Player of the Year and Black College Defensive Player of the Year. He was picked by the Giants in the 1993 NFL Draft (2nd round). After retiring from playing, Strahan embarked on a successful broadcast career and currently works as an analyst on Fox NFL Sunday and a co-host of ABC’s Good Morning America. He has also hosted The $100,000 Pyramid and, from 2012-2016, co-hosted Live! With Kelly and Michael for which he was honored with two Daytime Emmy Awards. In 2015, Strahan authored the best-selling book “Wake Up Happy: The Dream Big, Win Big Guide to Transforming Your Life.”
