Eli Manning is a former NFL quarterback who spent the entirety of his 16-year career from 2004-2019 with the New York Giants. Manning is New York’s franchise leader in a number of offensive categories including passing yards and passing touchdowns. Manning passed for 255 yards and a pair of touchdowns in New York’s stunning 17-14 victory, winning game MVP honors. Manning’s Giants faced a similar situation upon a rematch with the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. New York made the playoffs with a 9-7 record and again faced heavily-favored New England, which went 13-3 in the regular season. Once more, Manning earned Super Bowl MVP honors, this time completing 75% of his passes (30-for-40) for 276 yards and a touchdown, as the Giants again edged the Patriots by four points, 21-17.
Manning played college football at Ole Miss, where he was named first-team All-SEC in 2003 while also winning the Bart Starr Award, Maxwell Award and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award as well as SEC Offensive Player of the Year honors. Both New York and Ole Miss have retired Manning’s No. 10 jersey. In 2016, he was named the Walter Payton Man of the Year, recognizing his community involvement and charitable efforts.
