Reggie Jackson, nicknamed “Mr. October” for his legendary hitting in the postseason, is a former MLB right fielder who played 21 professional seasons from 1967-1987 with the Kansas City/Oakland Athletics (1967-1975, 1987), Baltimore Orioles (1976), New York Yankees (1977-1981) and California Angels (1982-1986). A 1993 inductee into the Baseball Hall of Fame, Jackson was named an All-Star 14 times (1969, 1971-1975, 1977-1984) and was the 1973 A.L. MVP in a season that saw him record a batting average of .293 along 32 home runs and 117 RBI. Jackson received MVP votes in 13 separate seasons, placing within the top 10 in votes seven times.

From 1972-1974, Jackson led Oakland to three straight World Series titles, which included World Series MVP honors in 1973. Upon joining the Yankees in 1977, he immediately brought a spark to New York that resulted in a World Series title in his first year in the Big Apple. In 1978. Jackson was again named World Series MVP as the Yankees defeated the L.A. Dodgers in six games. In the series-clinching game, Jackson would become immortalized after he hit three home runs. In 1980 and 1982, Jackson won Silver Slugger awards as the league’s best hitting right fielder. Known for his power at the plate, Jackson in his career hit 563 home runs and four times - 1973, 1975, 1980 and 1982 - led the A.L. in home runs. His jersey #9 has been retired by Oakland while New York retired his jersey #44. He is also a Monument Park and A’s Hall of Fame honoree.
