Gene Stallings Booking Agent Details

One of the most respected head football coaches of his era both on and off the field, Gene Stallings led the University of Alabama from 1990 – 1996, which culminated in 1992 with a perfect 13-0 record, SEC championship and NCAA national title. In his six seasons in Tuscaloosa, Stallings compiled a record of 62-25. He was twice named SEC Coach of the Year in 1992 and 1994 and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, Alabama Sports Hall of Fame and Texas Sports Hall of Fame among others. Prior to Alabama, Stallings coached in the NFL for the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals from 1986-1989 after serving as the secondary coach with the Dallas Cowboys under head coach Tom Landry for 14 seasons from 1972-1985, which included a Super Bowl XII win.

Stallings got his start in coaching in 1958 when he was hired by legendary Alabama coach Paul “Bear” Bryant as a defensive assistant. He was on the staff for two of the Crimson Tide’s national championships in 1961 and 1964. Shortly after the 1964 campaign, Stalling was hired as the head coach at his alma mater, Texas A&M, where he coached for seven seasons from 1965-1971 and compiled a 27-45-1 mark and Southwest Conference title in 1967. Born on March 2, 1935 in Paris, TX, Stallings played college football at Texas A&M from 1954-1956 and was part of the legendary Junction Boys.

Off the field, Stallings has been involved with many organizations and served on numerous boards, including President George W. Bush’s Commission on Intellection Disability, People’s National Bank of Paris, Tandy Corporation, Disability Resources, Paris Regional Medical Center, Great Southern Wood Corporation, Texas Rangers Law Enforcement, Boys and Girls Club of Paris and Texas A&M Board of Regents. In 1997, Stallings authored the book “Another Season: A Coach’s Story of Raising an Exceptional Son”, which described his relationship with his son John Mark who was born with Down Syndrome and died in 2008. Two facilities at the University of Alabama are named after John Mark – the football equipment room and Stallings Center.
