Dusty Baker is a former MLB player and manager. He enjoyed a 19-year playing career from 1968-86, retiring with a .278 career batting average and 242 home runs. Baker came up with the Atlanta Braves from 1968-75 but his career blossomed upon being dealt to the L.A. Dodgers. Baker won three American League Championships with the Dodgers, including the series MVP honors in 1977. He won back-to-back Silver Slugger awards in 1980-81 and was a two-time All Star in 1981 and 1982. Baker earned a championship ring with L.A. in their 1981 World Series victory.

After retiring, Baker worked as a coach with the San Francisco Giants, becoming manager in 1993, a post he held through 2002. While with the Giants, Baker earned three NL Manager of the Year awards in 1993, 1997 and 2000. Baker managed the Chicago Cubs from 2003-2007 and the Cincinnati Reds from 2008-13. In 2010, he led the Reds to a NL Central Division title and the club’s first playoff berth since 1995. Baker most recently managed the Washington Nationals in 2016 and 2017. In between coaching stints, Baker has worked as a broadcaster and is also a member of the National Advisory Board for Positive Coaching Alliance, a non-profit organization that works to benefit student-athletes.
