Doc Rivers has served as head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA since 2013. Prior to the Clippers, Rivers coached the Boston Celtics from 2004-2013 and Orlando Magic from 1999-2003. He won an NBA championship with the Celtics in 2008 when he led the team to a 4-2 series win over the Los Angeles Lakers. He was named NBA Coach of the Year in 2000 and coached in two All-Star Games in 2008 and 2011.

Prior to coaching, Rivers enjoyed a successful career as a player for the Atlanta Hawks (1983-1991), Clippers (1991-1992), New York Knicks (1992-1994) and San Antonio Spurs (1994-1996). Rivers was named to the NBA All-Star team in 1988 and received the J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award in 1990.

Rivers was raised in Chicago and attended Proviso High School, where he was a McDonald’s All-American and named Mr. Basketball USA in 1980. He played collegiately at Marquette and played for the United States national team at the FIBA World Championship in 1982. That same year, he was named by USA Basketball as its Male Athlete of the Year. Marquette retired his jersey #31 in 2004. Off the court, Rivers has worked with the Positive Coaching Alliance by serving on its National Advisory Board.
