Joining the New York Yankees in 1989, Sax posted the second-highest batting average of his career. He played for the Yankees through 1991 before playing for the Chicago White Sox from 1992-93. Sax rounded out his MLB career in 1994 with the Oakland Athletics. After retiring, he worked briefly in television before running for political office in California. Sax was the Arizona Diamondbacks’ hitting coach in 2013. He has also worked as a host on SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio.
