Since joining ESPN in 2001, Scott Van Pelt has become of the network’s most recognizable personalities. He currently hosts SportsCenter and is the network’s lead host of its golf tournament coverage, including the PGA Championship and Masters, working alongside two-time US Open champ Andy North. Van Pelt previously co-hosted “Tirico and Van Pelt” (along with Mike Tirico), “The Scott Van Pelt Show” and “SVP and Russillo” (along with Ryen Russillo) on ESPN Radio and has appeared on numerous other ESPN shows, including “College GameDay” with a segment called “Bald Man of Campus.” In 2019, Van Pelt was nominated for a Sports Emmy in the category of Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Host.

Prior to joining ESPN, Van Pelt worked as a reporter and anchor at The Golf Channel from 1994-2000, co-hosting such programs as “Viewer’s Forum”, “Golf Central” and “Leaderboard Report”. Van Pelt began his broadcasting career in Washington, DC in 1990 at WTTG-TV where helped put together content for “Sports Extra” and Washington Redskins specials. Van Pelt has also done commentary work for a couple of EA Sports video games, including Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and 11. Born on July 9, 1966 in Brookeville, Maryland, Van Pelt attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 1988.
