Rebecca Lobo Booking Agent Details

One of the top women’s basketball players in history, Rebecca Lobo starred collegiately at the University of Connecticut (UConn) from 1991-1995 and in the WNBA primarily for the New York Liberty from 1997-2001 but also the Houston Comets in 2002 and Connecticut Sun in 2003. She became a member of the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010, Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2017 and had her jersey #50 retired by UConn in 2019, the first player in school history to be so honored.

While at UConn, Lobo played under head coach Geno Auriemma and served an important role in the Huskies’ team of 1995 that went a perfect 35-0 and won the NCAA national championship. For her play that season, Lobo won most every major basketball award, including the Naismith College Player of the Year, AP Player of the Year, USBWA Player of the Year, Honda Sports Award, WBCA Player of the Year and Wade Trophy. She was also honored as the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year with the Honda-Broderick Cup.

Lobo moved to the professional ranks in 1997 and joined the Liberty in its inaugural season, helping them reach the WNBA Finals in a matchup against the Comets. She was named that season to the All-WNBA Second Team and an All-Star in 1999. In international play, Lobo won a gold medal representing the United States at the 1996 Summer Olympics. After retiring from playing, Lobo moved to the broadcast booth, working for ESPN. Off the court, Lobo authored a book with her late mother RuthAnn called “The Home Team”, which discussed her mother’s breast cancer battle. They also founded the RuthAnn and Rebecca Lobo Scholarship at UConn. Lobo was born on October 6, 1973 in Hartford, Connecticut.
