Michael Vick is a former NFL quarterback who played 13 seasons from 2001-2015 with the Atlanta Falcons (2001-2006), Philadelphia Eagles (2009-2013), New York Jets (2014) and Pittsburgh Steelers (2015). Vick played college football at Virginia Tech and is a 2025 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Upon arriving in the NFL after being picked No. 1 in the 2001 draft, Vick helped revolutionize the quarterback position with his dual-threat abilities. In 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2010, he was named to the Pro Bowl. In 2002, Vick led Atlanta to the divisional round of the playoffs, throwing for 2,936 yards and 16 touchdowns while rushing for 777 yards and eight more scores. Vick’s Falcons went 11-4 in 2004, winning an NFC South Divisional title and advancing to the NFC Championship game. For the season, Vick threw for 2,313 yards and 14 touchdowns, rushing for another 902 yards.
Vick revived his career with Philadelphia from 2010-2012, producing a pair of 3,000-yard campaigns in 2010 and 2011 and setting career-highs through the air both years. He additionally threw 21 touchdown passes in 2010.He was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year in 2010.
At Virginia Tech, Vick won several awards before the Falcons drafted him first overall in 2001, including Big East Rookie of the Year, Big East Offensive Player of the Year and First-Team All-American honors in 1999. In December of 2024, Vick was named head coach of Norfolk State University.
