Ben Roethlisberger has played quarterback for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers since being picked by the team in the 2004 NFL Draft (1st round). “Big Ben” as he is affectionally known is a two-time Super Bowl champion, having led the Steelers to a 21-10 win in Super Bowl XL over the Seattle Seahawks and 27-23 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII. In the first Super Bowl, Roethlisberger, at 23 years old, became the youngest quarterback in league history to win a championship.

Roethlisberger was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2004 after setting an NFL rookie qb record for wins with 13 and has been named to the Pro Bowl six times. He led the NFL in yards passing in 2014 and 2018 and holds the Steelers’ franchise records for passing yards and touchdowns, surpassing Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw in both categories.

Born on March 2, 1982 in Lima, Ohio, Roethlisberger played college football at Miami (OH). After his first season in 2001, he was named MAC Freshman of the Year and, in 2003, was named MAC MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. The school retired his jersey #7 in 2007. Off the field, Roethlisberger has been actively involved in the community, founding the Ben Roethlisberger Foundation, donating a game check to support tsunami relief and giving more than $100,000 to police dog funding.
