Jimbo Fisher has held the position of head football coach at Texas A&M since 2018. Prior to coaching the Aggies, Fisher was the head coach at Florida State for eight years from 2010 – 2017, where he succeeded the legendary Bobby Bowden. During his time in Tallahassee, Fisher recorded a mark of 83-23, which included five bowl wins, three ACC titles and the BCS National Championship in 2013. That same year, he was named the College Coach of the Year by Rawlings.

Before taking over the reigns at Florida State, Fisher held numerous assistant coaching jobs at Samford, Auburn, Cincinnati, LSU and Florida State. In 2001, he was a finalist for the Broyles Assistant Coach of the Year Award.

Fisher was born on October 9, 1965 in Clarksburg, West Virginia and played college football at both Salem University and Samford, where he was named the National Player of the Year in Division III in 1987. After finishing college, Fisher spent one season playing in the Arena Football League before getting his first coaching job when he returned to Samford in 1988 after his former college coach Terry Bowden hired him to work as a graduate assistant with the quarterbacks.
