Jeremy Affeldt is a retired pitcher who played in the majors for 14 seasons from 2002-2015 with the Kansas City Royals (2002-2006), Colorado Rockies (2006-2007), Cincinnati Reds (2008) and San Francisco Giants (2009-2015). He won three World Series with the Giants in 2010, 2012 and 2014. Over the course of his career, Affeldt enjoyed great success during the postseason as evidenced by him posting a 2-0 record with an ERA of 0.86 in 33 games, which ranks third all-time in MLB history for pitchers who threw a minimum of 30 innings.

Affeldt was traded from the Royals to the Rockies midway through the 2006 season. In 2007, he made significant contributions to the franchises only World Series run as he appeared in a career-high 75 games, going 4-3 with a 3.51 ERA. While the Rockies lost the World Series to Boston, Affeldt got more than his fair share of opportunities to win a championship. In 2010, he went 4-3 and pitched in 53 games in helping the Giants to their first World Series win since relocating to the west coast from New York City. In 2012, he had a solid campaign when he posted a 2.70 ERA as the franchise won its second Fall Classic in three years. Affeldt’s finest season came in 2014 as he helped the Giants to their third World Series victory in five years behind a career-best ERA of 2.28, which he posted over 62 games pitched.

Off the field, Affeldt has been a longtime humanitarian and supporter of the San Francisco non-profit Not For Sale, which works to end international child slavery. He has authored two books - “To Stir A Movement: Life, Justice and Major League Baseball” and "Madman: Out of the Shadows of Shame and into the Light of Grace". Affeldt also co-founded a non-profit organization called Generation Alive, which strives to empower young people to get involved with their communities through service and action. He has additionally served as an analyst for Giants games broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area.
