He is a five-time All-Star (1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997), four-time Silver Slugger Award winner (1991, 1993, 1994, 2000), and two-time AL MVP (1993, 1994). He won the AL batting title in 1997, was named AL Comeback Player of the Year in 2000, and his uniform number was retired by the White Sox.
