Chad Hedrick is a five-time Olympic medalist and former inline skater. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, he captured three speed skating medals - gold in the 5,000 meter, silver in the 10,000 meter and bronze in the 1,500 meter. His performance made Hedrick just the third American to win three medals in speed skating at a single Winter Olympics. He followed up that performance with two more medals at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, a silver in the team pursuit and bronze in the 1,000 meter competition. Up until Hedrick’s five medals in five distances, that feat had only been achieved one other time by Eric Heiden.

Hedrick also won three gold medals at the World Championships - 2004 in Hamar (Allround), 2004 in Seoul (5000 meter) and 2005 in Inzell (5,000 meter) Prior to his speed skating, Hedrick was one of the most accomplished inline skaters ever, winning 52 World Championship races and 9 consecutive World Overall Championships. Hedrick is very involved with philanthropy. Since starting the Chad Hedrick Foundation in 2006, he has raised over $500,0000 for Special Olympics Texas. In 2012, he was named recipient of the Special Olympics Ambassador of the Year. Hedrick currently works in real estate in the Houston, Texas area.
