Bryce Drew is a former college basketball player and current head coach at Grand Canyon University. Drew had a highly successful college basketball career at Valparaiso from 1994-1998, earning three straight All-Mid Continent Conference selections from 1996-1998. Additionally, he was the MCC Tournament MVP in 1995, 1996 and 1998 while earning MCC Player of the Year honors as a junior and senior in 1997 and 1998. In the 1998 NCAA Basketball Tournament, Drew made one of the most famous shots in tournament history by draining a three-pointer as time expired to lead the 14th seeded Crusaders over 4th seeded Ole Miss, 70-69. Drew’s jersey #24 was retired by the Crusaders in 2014.

While in college, he represented the United State at the 1997 Summer Universiade, helping the men’s basketball squad to a gold medal. The next year, Drew was picked by the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 1998 NBA Draft. He played with the Rockets through 2000 before joining the Chicago Bulls (2000-2001) and Charlotte/New Orleans Hornets (2001-2004). From 2004-2005, Drew played professionally overseas in Italy.

After his playing career ended, Drew returned to Valparaiso as an assistant (2005-2011) and head coach (2011-2016.) During his time as head coach, he guided the Crusaders to a 124-79 overall record and Horizon League regular season titles in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016. Similarly, Valparaiso won Horizon League Conference championships in 2013 and 2015. For his efforts, Drew was named Horizon League Coach of the Year in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Drew later served as head coach at Vanderbilt from 2016-2019. He is the son of former Valparaiso coach Homer Drew and brother of Baylor head coach Scott Drew.
