Sonny Jurgensen is a Hall of Fame quarterback who played for the Philadelphia Eagles (1957-1963) and Washington Redskins (1964-1974). He was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and won a championship with the Eagles in 1960. Jurgensen led the NFL in passing yards five seasons and passing touchdowns two seasons. He’s tied for the longest touchdown in NFL history at 99 yards. For his career, he completed 2,433 passes for 32,224 yards, 255 touchdowns with a passer rating of 82.6. Jurgensen played collegiately at Duke at both quarterback and defensive back. In his first season, he tied a school record with interceptions in four straight games and helped the Blue Devils claim an ACC title and a win over Nebraska in the Orange Bowl, 34-7. He was selected by the Eagles in the 4th round of the 1957 NFL Draft and was traded to the Redskins during the 1964 football season. After retiring from football in 1974, Jurgensen went into broadcasting and has enjoyed a long career, including serving as the Redskins radio color analyst.
