One of the greatest drivers in NASCAR history, Rusty Wallace’s career spanned 706 races from 1980-2005 and included 55 Cup Series wins and 349 finishes in the top 10. His wins total ranks ninth all-time. Wallace won the Winston Cup Series in 1989 and a few of his highest profile wins included the Bud Shootout (1998), The Winston (1989) and Coca-Cola 600 (1990). Wallace became a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2013 and has also been inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame America and International Motorsports Hall of Fame. In 1998, he was named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers of all-time.

He earned his first top 10 finish in 1981 at that year’s Bank of America Roval 400. In his first full season in 1984, Wallace won Winston Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors. He notched his first win in 1986 at the Valleydale 500. During his Winston Cup Series championship season in 1989 while competing for Blue Max Racing, he won six races, finishing just ahead of Dale Earnhardt in the final point standings. In 1993, Wallace posted a career-high 10 victories as he finished runner-up in the Winston Cup Series standings for the second time in his career. In 2006, Wallace started a successful career in broadcasting, working as an auto racing analyst for ABC and ESPN on their coverage of the IndyCar Series. He began covering NASCAR when the networks began televising races in 2007. He has also worked as the lead NASCAR analyst for the Motor Racing Network (MRN). Wallace was born on August 14, 1956 in Arnold, Missouri. His brothers Mike and Kenny also competed on the NASCAR circuit as did his son Stephen.
