Dale Jarrett is a former professional race car driver who competed in the NASCAR Cup Series for 24 years from 1984-2008. In total, he appeared in 668 races, winning 32 – including three Daytona 500’s – while notching 260 top ten finishes. Other notable wins included the Brickyard 400 (1996, 1999), Coca-Cola 600 (1996), Winston 500 (1998) and Budweiser Shootout (1996, 2000, 2004). In 2000, Jarrett was the recipient of an ESPY Award for Best Driver while in 1997 and 1999, he was named the Richard Petty Driver of the Year. In 2014, Jarrett was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame while in 1998, he was named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers of all-time.

Jarrett’s first professional win came at the 1991 Champion Spark Plug 400. Later in 1993, he won his first Daytona 500 followed by his second in 1996, a season that also saw him win an additional three races and finish third in the Cup Series standings. Jarrett continued his strong performance in 1997 and 1998 by finishing second and third, respectively, in the final standings. In 1999, while competing for Robert Yates Racing, Jarrett won four races with 20 additional top five finishes, six of which saw him finish as runner-up. That season, he won his first NASCAR Cup Series, leading all drivers with 5,262 points. In 2000, Jarrett won his third Daytona 500. His final race victory came in 2005 at the UAW Ford 500.

In addition to his success in the Cup Series, Jarrett also competed in 329 NASCAR Xfinity Series events, winning 11 races and finishing in the top ten 173 times. He retired from racing in 2008 and moved to the broadcast booth, joining ESPN as its lead NASCAR racing analyst. In 2015, he went to work for NBC Sports. Jarrett was born in Conover, North Carolina on November 26, 1956. He is the son of NASCAR racing legend Ned Jarrett.
