Prince Fielder played first base and designated hitter in the majors for 12 seasons for the Milwaukee Brewers (2005-2011), Detroit Tigers (2012-2013) and Texas Rangers (2014-2016). The six-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger Award winner led the National League in home runs in 2007 and all of baseball in RBI in 2009. He set an all-time Brewers’ franchise record for single season home runs with 50 in 2007 and became the youngest player ever in the NL to record 50 homers in a season. He also twice won the Home Derby, first while with the Brewers in 2009 and second while with the Tigers in 2012. He became just the second player (the other is Ken Griffey Jr.) to win the competition while playing in both leagues.
Born on May 9, 1984, Fielder was picked by the Brewers in the 2002 draft (1st round) and made his debut in the majors on June 13, 2005. He is the son of former MLB player Cecil Fielder and together they became the first father-son duo to both notch 50 homers in one season. Fielder was the recipient of the AL Comeback Player of the Year award while with Texas in 2015 after he returned from a herniated disk that ended his previous season in May of 2014. In total for his career, Fielder recorded a batting average of .283 with 1028 RBI and 319 home runs.
