Picabo Street is a former alpine ski racer who competed internationally for the United States at multiple Olympic games and World Championships. At the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Street won a silver medal in the downhill skiing competition. In 1998, at the next Winter Olympics held in Nagano, Japan, Street took home the gold medal in the super-G competition. In 2004, she became a member of the U.S. Ski-Snowboard Hall of Fame.

In 1989 at the age of 17, Street joined the United States Ski Team and made her debut in the World Cup in 1992. Street would go on to compete in a total of eight World Cup seasons from 1993-2002, missing the 1999 and 2000 campaigns due to injury. She won a total of nine downhill World Cup skiing competitions while 17 times she placed within the top three, subsequently earning a spot on the champions’ podium.

Street earned a bronze and gold medal at the 1996 World Championships in Sierra Nevada, Spain and a silver medal at the 1993 World Championships in Morioka, Japan. In 2002, shortly after the 2002 Winter Olympics at Salt Lake City, Street retired from professional competition. Off the slopes, Street appeared on numerous tv shows, including Nickelodeon GUTS, American Gladiators and Sesame Street. In 2001, she wrote an autobiography entitled "Picabo: Nothing to Hide".
