Mike Mussina is a retired pitcher who played for the Baltimore Orioles (1991-2000) and New York Yankees (2001-2008). He was a five-time All-Star and seven-time Gold Glove Award winner. Mussina led Major League Baseball in wins in 1995 with 19 wins and finished his career with a winning percentage of .638. He established an American League record after winning 11 games in 17 straight seasons, including one 20-win, two 19-win, three 18-win and two 17-win seasons. Six times Mussina finished in the top five in AL Cy Young Award voting. Mussina announced his retirement after the 2008 season. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019 along with Lee Smith, Harold Baines, Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay and Edgar Martinez.

Mussina was born in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and attended Montoursville Area High School, where he recorded a 24-4 record and 0.87 ERA. Mussina played collegiately at Stanford and made two appearances in the College World Series. In 1990, during his junior year, Mussina went 14-5 with an ERA of 0.99. That spring, he was drafted by the Orioles in the 1st round and made his major league debut on August 4, 1991. In 2014, Mussina was named a recipient of the 2015 NCAA Silver Anniversary Award.
