Larry Allen played in the NFL as an offensive guard from 1994-2007, primarily for the Dallas Cowboys (1994-2005) and later the San Francisco 49ers (2006-2007). Allen was highly decorated in his career, as seen by his 11 total Pro Bowl selections – 10 of which occurred when he was with Dallas and set a Cowboys record for an offensive player. Those selections included seven straight picks from 1995-2001 and another four consecutive from 2003-2006. From 1995-2001, Allen additionally was named first-team All-Pro every season. A 2013 inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Allen was named to both the NFL’s 1990s All-Decade Team and 2000s All-Decade Team. Similarly, he is also a member of the NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team and was inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2011.
In 1995, Allen helped Dallas to a 12-4 overall record. The Cowboys went on to advance to Super Bowl XXX, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-17, and handing Allen his only championship. Allen was a mainstay on the Cowboys’ offensive line that blocked for running back Emmitt Smith, who captured four NFL rushing yards titles during the time Allen was with Dallas. A 2nd round pick in the 1994 NFL Draft by Dallas, Allen played college football at Sonoma State. He was born on November 27, 1971 in Los Angeles, California.
