Jay Williams is a retired basketball player and current ESPN basketball analyst. He played collegiately at Duke and in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls. Williams attended Duke from 1999-2002 and had a stellar career. His freshman year, Williams averaged double digits in scoring and was named National Freshman of the Year by The Sporting News and ACC Rookie of the Year. The next season, he played an integral role in helping the Blue Devils win the 2001 NCAA Championship and broke Dick Groat’s 49-year school record for total points in a season. Williams was raised in Plainfield, New Jersey and attended St. Joseph High School, where he was named a McDonald’s All-American, USA Today First-Team All-American, Parade All-American and the New Jersey Player of the Year.
