Harold Reynolds played second base in the majors from 1983-1994, primarily with the Seattle Mariners (1983-1992) and later the Baltimore Orioles (1993) and California Angels (1994). Reynolds had a breakout year in 1987 when he stole 60 bases, a number that led the American League, and batted .275 along with 35 RBI. That season, he was named an All-Star for the first time. The 1988 season saw Reynolds earn his second consecutive All-Star appearance while hitting .283 with 35 stolen bases and 11 triples, the latter of which led the A.L. He set a career-high with 184 hits during the 1989 season and in 1990, led all of baseball in plate appearances and at-bats. In 1988, 1989 and 1990, Reynolds won three straight Gold Glove Awards.

Born on November 26, 1960 in Eugene, Oregon, Reynolds played collegiately at Canada College in California. In 2013, Reynolds was the recipient of the school’s Lifetime Achievement Award and became a member of its Hall of Fame. He was picked by the Mariners with the second overall pick (1st round) of the 1980 draft and made his MLB debut on September 2, 1983. After his playing days ended, Reynolds embarked on a successful broadcasting career. He began working for ESPN in 1996 as a studio analyst on “Baseball Tonight” and covered other events for the network such as the World Series, All-Star Game and College World Series. Reynolds worked for MLB.com in 2007 and SportsNet New York and TBS in 2008 before joining MLB Network in 2009, where he has three times been nominated for a Sports Emmy. He has also worked for Fox on its coverage of MLB.
