Frank Wycheck is a former NFL tight end who played from 1993-2003, mainly with the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans (1995-2003) but also the Washington Redskins (1993-1994). Wycheck to date remains a member of a small group of NFL tight ends who have eclipsed 500 career receptions, joining such greats as Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, Shannon Sharpe, Ozzie Newsome and Rob Gronkowski. In total for his 11-year career, he posted 505 catches for 5,126 yards and 28 touchdowns. He is a member of the Titans/Oilers Ring of Honor.
In three straight seasons from 1998-2000, Wycheck was named to the Pro Bowl. He caught 70 passes for a career-high 768 yards and two touchdowns in 1998 for the Titans, while the next season, he recorded 69 receptions to go along with 641 yards.The 2000 season saw Wycheck tie his career-high in receptions with 70 and earn second-team All-Pro honors as Tennessee went 13-3 and advanced to Super Bowl XXXIV. Wycheck had five catches for 35 yards in the game but the Titans lost to the Kurt Warner-led St. Louis Rams in heartbreaking fashion, 23-16. Earlier in the playoffs, Wycheck played a role in a critical 75-yard touchdown play that has become known as the Music City Miracle in the wildcard game against Buffalo.
After his football career, Wycheck pursued professional wrestling and also worked as a broadcaster with the Tennessee Titans Radio Network. Off the gridiron, Wycheck has supported the Tennessee Special Olympics and hosted his own event called the Wycheck Harley Ride. Wycheck was born on October 14, 1971 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and played college football at the University of Maryland.
