Brian Roberts is a retired 2nd baseman who played for the Baltimore Orioles (2001-2013) and New York Yankees (2014). He was a two-time All-Star with the Orioles in 2005 and 2007 and led the American League in stolen bases in 2007. He ranks among the top all-time in several Orioles categories, including hits, runs, doubles, triples, walks and extra base hits. Roberts was inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame in 2018.

Roberts grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and went to Chapel Hill High School. He played two years of college baseball at the University of North Carolina (his dad was head coach) and was named first-team All-American and the ACC Player of the Year. He transferred to the University of South Carolina after his sophomore year and continued his success by being named by Baseball America as the top defensive player in college along with All-American and All-SEC honors.

Roberts was selected by the Orioles in the 1st round of the 1999 draft and worked his way up through organization’s minor league system by spending time with the Delmarva Shorebirds, Gulf Coast Orioles, Frederick Keys, Rochester Red Wings and Ottawa Lynx before making his Major League Baseball debut on June 14, 2011. Roberts retired in 2017 and has worked as an analyst for the Orioles Radio Network and MASN Sports.
