Ron Dayne played college football at the University of Wisconsin from 1996 – 99 and was the 1999 Heisman Trophy winner. He started at running back for the Badgers all four years and set the NCAA Division I –A record (bowl stats excluded) for total rushing yards in a career with 6,397 (Dayne’s record was broken by San Diego State’s Donnel Pumphrey in 2016 although he’s still the leader if bowl stats are included). Dayne was drafted by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft and went on to play in the league for eight seasons - the Giants (2000 – 04), Denver Broncos (2005) and Houston Texans (2006 – 07). He was raised in Pine Hill, New Jersey and attended Overbrook High School, where in 1995 he was named a USA Today High School All-American.
