Patrick Sharp played in the NHL for 15 seasons from 2002-2018 for the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks and Dallas Stars. He is best remembered for the 11 seasons he spent in Chicago from 2005-2015 and 2017-2018 and his role along with such teammates as Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews in Chicago’s three Stanley Cup-winning teams in 2010, 2013 and 2015. During Chicago’s first Stanley Cup run, Sharp recorded 11 goals and 11 assists. After amassing a career-best 62 points (36 goals/26 assists) and leading Chicago with seven game-winning goals in 2007-2008, Sharp was named an alternate captain in 2008-2009 (along with teammate Duncan Keith). He was named an NHL All-Star in 2011 and was honored as the game’s MVP after scoring one goal with two assists. In total for his career, Sharp amassed 287 goals with 333 assists for a total of 620 points.

Born on December 27, 1981 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Sharp played collegiately at the University of Vermont before being picked by the Flyers in 2001 NHL Draft (3rd round). While playing for the American Hockey League’s Philadelphia Phantoms, a minor league affiliate of the Flyers, Sharp helped the Phantoms to a Calder Cup title in 2004-2005. He made his debut in the NHL for the Flyers during the 2002-2003 season before being traded to the Blackhawks during the 2005-2006 campaign. In international play for Team Canada, Sharp won a bronze medal at the World Championships in 2008 and an Olympic gold medal at the Winter Games in 2014 on a team loaded with talent, including Toews, Patrick Marleau, Patrice Bergeron and Sidney Crosby. After retiring from playing, Sharp was hired in 2018 by NBC Sports as a hockey analyst.
