Karl Malone Booking Agent Details

Karl Malone is a former professional basketball player who played in the NBA for 19 seasons as a power forward for the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers. Inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2010, Malone is considered to be in the conversation as the best power forward of all-time as he’s second on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 36,928 points, only behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Well-known as “The Mailman” for his ability to deliver for his team, Malone’s long and successful 18-year career in Utah was exceptional. He was a 14-time All-Star selection and a two-time MVP while averaging a double-double in points and rebounds for nine straight seasons from 1986 to 1995. He went on to average a double-double in those same categories for his career with 25 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game while shooting 51.6 percent from the field. Despite only shooting 74.2 percent from the charity stripe during his career, he holds the record for the most free throws made (9,787) and attempted (13,188).

Malone was also a key asset at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics for the 1992 U.S. basketball “Dream Team” that won the gold medal as he finished second on the team in scoring by contributing 13 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game. He went on to win another gold medal in Atlanta four years later and would reach the NBA Finals with the Jazz in back-to-back years in 1997 and 1998 alongside Hall of Fame guard John Stockton, only to fall short to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls on both occasions.

Malone’s early years took place in Summerfield, Louisiana, where he played for Summerfield High School and took the team to three consecutive Louisiana Class C titles up to his senior season. He would then enroll at Louisiana Tech University where Malone was an All-Southland selection in all three seasons. Not only did he get the Bulldogs to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in their history in the 1984-85 season, Louisiana Tech was able to reach the Sweet 16 in the process. Malone would become the 13th overall selection by the Utah Jazz in the 1985 NBA Draft.
