Hakeem Nicks played wide receiver in the National Football League for the New York Giants from 2009-2014 and 2015. He also played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2014. Nicks was a member of the Giants’ team that won Super Bowl XLVI over the New England Patriots, 21-17. In that game, Nicks was the top receiver after recording 10 catches for 109 yards. In total for the 2011 playoffs, Nicks had 28 catches and 444 yards, both of which are Giants all-time records for the postseason.

Nicks was picked by New York in 2009 in the 1st round of the draft out of the University of North Carolina, where he was twice named First-Team All-ACC. He was the first Tar Heels wide receiver ever to record 1,000 yards in a season and set numerous school records for a career, including catches (181), touchdowns (21) and yards receiving (2,580). During his time in Chapel Hill, Nicks caught a pass in 35 of 36 games, including 26 consecutive.

Nicks was born on January 14, 1988 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and played football at Independence High School, where he was named to the AP All-State Team and by the Charlotte Observer as its Offensive Player of the Year. In his senior season, Nicks had 93 receptions for 1,819 yards with 20 td’s.
