Danny White played in the NFL for the Dallas Cowboys from 1976-1988. White began his time in Dallas as the team’s punter and backup to Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach. He took over the starting quarterback duties in 1980 after Staubach’s retirement and led the Cowboys to the NFC Championship Game three straight years from 1980-1982. White was named to the Pro Bowl in 1982 and was an AP Second-Team All-Pro selection that same year.

White was picked by the Cowboys out of Arizona State in the 3rd round of the 1974 draft but he signed instead with the Memphis Southmen of the World Football League, where he played two seasons in 1974-1975. White enjoyed a successful college career in Tempe, amassing a 33-4 record and leading the Sun Devils to three victories in the Fiesta Bowl. He was named All-American in 1973 and set numerous NCAA passing records. Arizona State retired his jersey #11 and he’s a member of the Arizona State Athletics Hall of Fame, Arizona Sports Hall of Fame and College Football Hall of Fame.

After retiring from playing, White coached the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League (AFL) from 1992-2004. He led the Rattlers to two AFL titles and was named AFL Coach of the Year in 1993. He became a member of the AFL Hall of Fame in 2002. Since 2011, White has worked for Compass Media Networks as a color radio analyst for Cowboys games.
