Colt McCoy has played quarterback for the Washington Redskins since 2014. Prior to that, he played for the Cleveland Browns (2010-2012) and San Francisco 49ers (2013). He was drafted in the 3rd round by the Browns in the 2010 NFL Draft out of the University of Texas.
During his time in Austin from 2006-2009, McCoy enjoyed one of the most celebrated careers by a quarterback in Longhorns history and set many school records. He finished his stellar career with 45 wins, trailing only Kellen Moore of Boise State in wins by a quarterback in Division I football. McCoy won outright or shared the team MVP award in each of his four years at Texas and had his #12 jersey retired by the school. McCoy was born in Hobbs, New Mexico and went to school at Jim Ned High School, located in Tuscola, Texas. McCoy had a stellar high school football career. He was twice named the AP 2A Offensive Most Valuable Player and set the mark as the division’s all-time leading passer. When his high school career ended, McCoy was ranked 4th overall all-time in passing in the state.
