Ben Zobrist enjoyed a 14-year Major League Baseball career from 2006-2019 with the Tampa Bay Rays (2006-2014), Oakland Athletics (2015), Kansas City Royals (2015) and Chicago Cubs (2016-2019). Zobrist was a three-time All-Star (2009, 2013, 2016) and won back-to-back World Series titles in 2015 and 2016, first with the Royals and later the Cubs. In 2016, his first season with Chicago, Zobrist batted .272 with 18 homers and 76 RBI. Zobrist proved to be a pivotal member of the Cubs’ first World Series-winning team since 1908 as he batted .357 throughout the Fall Classic and delivered a key RBI double in the decisive Game 7 of the series against the Cleveland Indians. For his performance, he was named World Series MVP.

The year prior in 2015, after spending half the season in Oakland, Zobrist was dealt to the Royals and recorded a batting average of .284 in 59 games. Over the course of the playoffs, Zobrist hit .303 and notched 20 hits and six RBI as the Royals captured their first World Series title since 1985 in defeating the New York Mets. In 2009 while playing for Tampa Bay, Zobrist placed eighth in A.L. MVP voting after hitting a career-high 27 home runs and knocking-in 91 runs.

Born on May 26, 1981 in Eureka, Illinois, Zobrist played college baseball first at Olivet Nazarene University, where he was named in 2003 the Player of the Year in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and an NAIA All-American, before transferring his senior year to Dallas Baptist University. He was picked in the 6th round by the Houston Astros in the 2004 draft and traded to Tampa Bay, where he made his MLB debut on August 1, 2006. A devout Christian, Zobrist has worked as a counselor at a Christian camp in Illinois called Camp of Champions USA.
