Former Baseball Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt Speaks at Melanoma Foundation Luncheon Event

At the luncheon Schmidt spoke about his own incidence of melanoma and urged attendees to get checked by a dermatologist. Schmidt’s Winner’s Circle Charities recently partnered with the Richard David Kann Melanoma Foundation in its mission to support the prevention and early detection of skin cancer.
The event included a cocktail reception, silent auction, fashion show, and the presentation of the 2016 Rainbow Award to Schmidt.

Mike Schmidt is a former Major League Baseball player who played his entire career for the Philadelphia Phillies. Schmidt was voted National League MVP three times, an All-Star 12 times, and received more votes than any other third basemen in 1999’s Major League Baseball All-Century Team. In 1995, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, and he is generally regarded as one of the greatest third basemen in the history of baseball.
