  • Andy Pettitte to Speak at Church Event in Warren, NJ

    New York Yankees pitcher and devout Christian, Andy Pettitte, is scheduled to appear as the guest speaker on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 5:30 p.m. at Stonecrest Community Church’s outdoor event in Warren, N.J. The church is hosting an outdoor event called “Family Fun Night” and Pettitte will appear on the church grounds to speak to the crowd. Stonecrest Community Church is located at 11 Technology Dr. N, Warren, NJ. The good news is admission tickets for the gala event are free, and can be reserved by going to stonecrestchurch.com/familyfun.

  • Steve Garvey to Appear as Keynote Speaker at Vehicle Protection Association Meeting

    Baseball great, Steve Garvey is scheduled to appear as the keynote speaker at this year’s annual Vehicle Protection Association meeting on Sept. 15-16, 2013 at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to ensuring the integrity of the automotive service contract industry. Former first baseman, Steve Garvey appeared on Good Day LA in April 2013, where he discussed auctioning off his sports memorabilia for a good cause.   • Charlie Manuel Gets Standing Ovation at Autograph Signing Day After He’s Fired

    MEDIA, Pa. — The day after Phillies manager Charlie Manuel was fired, he kept a commitment to appear for more than two hours during a scheduled appearance at Granite Run Mall in Media. Pa. To Manuels’ astonishment, he was given a standing ovation.

  • Gabby Douglas is Featured Speaker at Youth Breakfast

    DEKALB COUNTY Ga. — Olympic gold medalist, Gabby Douglas, was the featured speaker at Sharon Barnes Sutton’s youth empowerment breakfast that was held on Saturday, August 10, at the Marriott Evergreen Resort in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Douglas spoke to an audience full of youth, their families and notable DeKalb County leaders who attended the breakfast which benefits the Youth Leadership Academy. Barnes, who is the District 4 DeKalb County Commissioner, founded the Academy in 2008.

  • Dwight Gooden to Appear at Locker Room Sports in Woodbridge

  • NFL Star Jerry Rice Appears on Golf Channel’s Big Break

    The Golf Channel’s realty show, Big Break, will now include retired NFL players Jerry Rice and Tim Brown, who will team up with with male and female golfers trying to earn tour cards. The reality show was filmed in Puerto Rico, and is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 8, 2013. Also featured with Rice and Brown are former NFL players, Marc Bulger, Al Del Greco, Chris Doleman and Mark Rypien, all with single-digit handicaps. (more…)

  • John Elway’s No 7 Jersey to be Retired by Stanford University

    Former Broncos quarterback, John Elway, is about to have his No. 7 jersey retired by Stanford University. The honor is scheduled to take place during halftime at Stanford University’s home game against Oregon on Nov. 7, 2013. Elway will become the third Stanford quarterback to have his jersey retired along with Ernie Nevers (No. 1) and Jim Plunket (No. 16).
