Steve Garvey to Appear as Keynote Speaker at Vehicle Protection Association Meeting

Baseball great, Steve Garvey is scheduled to appear as the keynote speaker at this year’s annual Vehicle Protection Association meeting on Sept. 15-16, 2013 at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The Vehicle Protection Association (VPA) is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to ensuring the integrity of the automotive service contract industry. Former first baseman, Steve Garvey appeared on Good Day LA in April 2013, where he discussed auctioning off his sports memorabilia for a good cause. Steve Garvey, who is an active philanthropist, is also a popular motivational speaker, says PFP Sports & Celebrity Talent Agency.

Steve Garvey, is best remembered for playing first base for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1969 to 1982 and the San Diego Padres from 1983 to 1987. He was the 1974 NL MVP, ten-time All-Star and holds the National League record for consecutive games played (1,207). In the fall of 2012, Garvey underwent an operation to treat prostate cancer, and continues to raise awareness for diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
