Joe Theismann Named Guest Speaker at Charlotte Touchdown Club


CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Touchdown Club presented its annual luncheon on Friday June 19, where former Washington quarterback, Joe Theismann, was the guest speaker. For over an hour, Theismann spoke about his football career and his relationship with former coach Joe Gibbs, who introduced him to the crowd. Before his speech, Theismann talked with the Observer about the state of the Carolina Panthers, QB Cam Newton’s recent contract extension and the injury that ended Theismann’s career. SPRINGFIELD, MO. — San Francisco 49ers legendary quarterback, Joe Montana, was the guest speaker on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at the 2015 Best of SW Missouri Preps held at the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center. The event was presented by the News-Leader. The three-time MVP Super Bowl Champ talked before the program about the best lessons he could give the youngsters in attendance — who amounted to about the top 2 percent of the high school student-athletes in southwest Missouri … and that lesson had little to do with sports. Dan Marino One of Six NFL HOF QB’s Honored at Gridiron Gold


PITTSBURGH, PA. — On Saturday, June 6, 2015, six Hall of Fame quarterbacks Dan Marino, Jim Kelly, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, George Blanda and Johnny Unitas, were honored at an event called Gridiron Gold at the Wyndham Grand. Western PA is known for the large number of NFL players that have come from the area. Since 1953, there have been 23 total quarterbacks inducted into the Hall of Fame. The autograph session will take place Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. at D2 Sports Pub at 788 Armed Forces Drive in Green Bay. Packers legend Ron Wolf will also take part in the signing. The event is sponsored by Legends of the Field, a memorabilia service. Portions of the proceeds will go to the Favre 4 Hope foundation.
