  • Amy Van Dyken Named Keynote Speaker at U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Awards Dinner to be Held in Chicago

    CHICAGO, IL — Six-time Olympic gold medalist, Amy Van Dyken has been named the keynote speaker at the annual meeting of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic family to be held on Sept. 25-26 at the Hilton Hotel in Chicago.   • Joe Namath Hosts Celebrity Golf Classic for March of Dimes

    NYC — Jets legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Joe Namath, hosted the 10th Annual Joe Namath March of Dimes Celebrity Golf Classic on September 9 & 10 with nearly 100 other sports legends and celebrites attending. Celebrities included Meadowlark Lemon, the ‘Clown Prince of Basketball’,  Richard Roundtree, the first black action hero who played “Shaft” and Basketball Hall of Famer Bernard King, to name a few.

  • Olympic Track Star Lolo Jones to Compete on DWTS

    LOS ANGELES, CA. — Olympic track star, Lolo Jones, will compete on Season 19 Dancing With The Stars scheduled to air on ABC September 15, 2014. Jones is a three time Olympian in track and bob sledding. She is also a native of Des Moines Iowa as is past DWTS Mirror Ball winner, Shawn Johnson, who won a few years ago. Jones will be paired with pro partner Keo Motsepe, the first African American pro dancer to appear on the show.

  • Roberto Alomar Signs Autographs Meet Fans at Little League World Series Block Party

    WILLIAMSPORT, PA. — Roberto Alomar, a switch hitter who played for seven major league teams between 1988 and 2004 and had a career .300 batting average, was on hand to meet and greet fans and to sign autographs for free between 6 and 7 p.m. as the featured guest at the Williamsport Welcomes the World block party.   • Dave Winfield Named Grand Marshal & Guest Speaker at the 2014 Little League World Series

    WILLIAMSPORT, PA. — Former MLB Hall of Famer, Dave Winfield, was the grand marshal of the 10th annual Grand Slam Parade that kicked off the Little League World Series activities in the Williamsport area on August 10, 2014. Winfield was also the guest speaker on August 14 at 8 a.m. at the world series kickoff breakfast sponsored by the Williamsport-Lycoming Chamber of Commerce at the Genetti Hotel.   • Hines Ward Named Featured Speaker at Youth Fundraiser

    YORK, PA. — Steelers great, Hines Ward, has been named the featured speaker at a major upcoming fundraising dinner organized by the York County Youth Development Center. The event takes place Tuesday evening, Sept. 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Valencia Ballroom located at 142 N George St. in York, PA. The event is geared for adults and is supported entirely by sponsorships and through ticket sales. A limited number of corporate sponsorships are still available.   • Magic Johnson Named Keynote Speaker at University of Buffalo’s Speakers Series

    BUFFALO, NY. — According to BuffaloNews.comto cite sources, the 2014-15 lineup for the University at Buffalo’s Distinguished Speakers Series includes comedian John Oliver, NBA legend Magic Johnson and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.
