Bill Walton to be Keynote Speaker at 2015 KidWorks Fundraiser

ORANGE COUNTY, CA. — Former NBA star Bill Walton will be the keynote speaker at this year’s KidWorks’ 2015 Foundation for Success fundraising luncheon. The event takes on Nov. 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, Santa Ana/Orange County Airport. Event sponsorships are available from $2,500 up to $50,000. Individual and corporate donations at any level are welcomed. Walton is a retired NBA basketball player and television sportscaster. The “Big Red-Head”, as he was called, achieved super stardom playing for John Wooden’s powerhouse UCLA Bruins in the early ’70s, winning three straight College Player of the Year Awards, while leading the Bruins to two Division I national titles. He then went on to have a prominent career in the NBA where he was the league’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) and won two NBA championships. His professional career was significantly hampered by multiple foot injuries. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on May 10, 1993 and the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame that same year.
