  • Phillip Fulmer Named Keynote Speaker at Annual Governor's Luncheon in Nashville

    NASHVILLE, TN. — Former Tennessee Volunteers coach, Phillip Fulmer, has been named the keynote speaker at the Commissioner’s Luncheon on Nov. 13 during the 61st Annual Governor’s Conference on Economic and Community Development. During his time as coach, Fulmer earned a national championship, two conference titles and seven divisional crowns while winning more than three-quarters of his games. Source: The Daily Times

  • Hines Ward Named Featured Speaker at Youth Fundraiser

    YORK, PA. — Steelers great, Hines Ward, has been named the featured speaker at a major upcoming fundraising dinner organized by the York County Youth Development Center. The event takes place Tuesday evening, Sept. 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Valencia Ballroom located at 142 N George St. in York, PA. The event is geared for adults and is supported entirely by sponsorships and through ticket sales. A limited number of corporate sponsorships are still available.   • Phil Simms to Speak at University of Louisville Sports Event

    LOUISVILLE, KY. — Former New York Giants QB, Phil Simms, has been named the guest speaker at the U of L Conversations With Champions event to be held on Wednesday, Aug. 27, at 7 p.m. in Comstock Hall on U of L’s Belknap Campus. Simms speech will address how mentors helped him develop leadership skills as well as how he has handled the pressures that come with being an NFL quarterback and television sports analyst. Conversations With Champions will be integrated into curriculum for the university’s sport administration program, which is part of the College of Education & Human Development.   • Bruce Weber to Speak at Inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Coaching Clinic in St. Louis

    ST. LOUIS, MO. — Kansas State basketball coach, Bruce Weber, has been named the guest speaker at the inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Coaches Clinic from Aug. 5-6 to be held at the Missouri Athletic Club. According to 247 Sports, to cite souces, Weber will be joined at the clinic by St. Louis head coach Jim Crews, UMKC coach Kareem Richardson, Illinois head women’s coach Mike Divilbiss and Maryville (Mo.)   • NFL Greats Andre Reed, Michael Strahan, Ray Guy Among Seven Players Inducted into NFL Hall of Fame

    CANTON, OH. — Seven NFL legends including former NY Giants Michael Strahan, Buffalo Bills Andre Reed, defensive end Claude Humphrey, two first-time ballot selections, Tampa Bay linebacker Derrick Brooks and Seattle offensive tackle Walter Jones were inducted on Saturday, Aug 2 into the NFL Hall of Fame. Arizona/St. Louis defensive back Aeneas Williams and Oakland’s Ray Guy, the first full-time punter, were also inducted.

  • Lee Trevino & Gary McCord Appear at Benedictine University Golf Outing to Help Provide Scholarships for Students

    WHEATON, IL — Benedictine University recently hosted their 20th Annual President’s Invitational Golf Outing with golf legend Lee Trevino and CBS Sports analyst Gary McCord who were this year’s featured celebrities. The event took place on Monday July 28 at Cantigny Golf in Wheaton where area golfers had the opportunity to meet golf’s greatest and play a championship course all while contributing to a good cause.   • Byron Scott Named New Head Coach of Los Angeles Lakers

    LOS ANGELES, CA. — It’s official! The Los Angeles Lakers have named former Laker and Cleveland Cavaliers coach, Byron Scott, as their next coach.
