Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan Hosts Charity Golf Tournament

ATLANTA, GA. — Atlanta Falcons quarterback, Matt Ryan, recently hosted his third celebrity golf tournament to raise money for the Aflac Cancer Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and the Matt Ryan Foundation. The charity golf event took place at the Tournament Players Club TPC Sugarloaf golf course on April 15, the Monday after the Masters tournament. Ryan, an avid golfer has participated in numerous celebrity golf tournaments over the years.

Along with Ryan, several high-profile NFL players, Falcons players including wide receiver Harry Douglas and retired professional athletes such as Atlanta Braves Chipper Jones, also participated in the event.

Ryan was drafted in the first round as the third overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft after playing college football for Boston College. He is the only Falcons quarterback to lead the team to an 8-0 start. Ryan awards and achievements include 2× Pro Bowl (2010, 2012), 3x Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week winner, AP Offensive Rookie of the Year (2008), Rookie of the Year by Sporting News (2008), All-Rookie Team by Sporting News (2008) and NFC Rookie of the Month (October 2008).
