One of the most popular players in New York Knicks history known not only for his play but also his legendary fashion style, Hall of Fame point guard Walt “Clyde” Frazier played in the NBA from 1967-1979, primarily with the Knicks for 10 seasons from 1967-1977 before spending the last three seasons of his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1977-1979. Frazier won two NBA titles during his time with New York, the first in 1969-1970 and the second in 1972-1973. He was four times named to the All-NBA First-Team and seven times named an All-Star. He additionally earned from 1969-1975 seven straight selections to the NBA All-Defensive First Team. In total for his career, Frazier averaged 18.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. In 1996, he was included on the NBA’s 50th Anniversary All-Time Team and is also part of the Madison Square Garden Walk of Fame.

During New York’s championship run in 1969-1970, Frazier averaged 20.9 points per game. He played an integral role in leading the Knicks to a second NBA title in 1972-1973 when he averaged a career-high 7.3 rebounds per game while also contributing 21.1 points per contest. By the end of his stint in New York, Frazier held many Knicks franchise records, including minutes played (28,995), most games (759), field goals made (5,736), points (14,617) and assists (4,791). His jersey #10 was retired by the Knicks in 1979. Collegiately, Frazier played for Southern Illinois from 1963-1967, where he won an NIT championship in 1967 and was named the tournament MVP. His jersey #52 was retired by the Salukis and he was inducted into the College Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. After retiring from playing, Frazier began a successful broadcast career, first working with TBS in 1981 as an NBA analyst for Atlanta Hawks games and then in 1987 for MSG Networks, where he continues to serve as the Knicks tv analyst.
