Desmond Clark is a former NFL tight end who played for 11 years from 1999-2010, primarily with the Chicago Bears (2003-2010) but also the Denver Broncos (1999-2001) and Miami Dolphins (2002). In 2001, his final year in Denver, Clark had a breakout season, posting then-career-highs in receiving yards (566), receptions (51) and touchdowns (6). Clark had a solid debut season with Chicago in 2003, catching 44 passes for 433 yards and a pair of scores. Arguably his finest campaign was in 2006 when he posted a career-best in receiving yards (626), catching 45 passes and tying his career-best in touchdowns with 6.
Clark finished his career with 323 receptions for 3,591 yards and 27 touchdowns. At the time of his retirement, he ranked second all-time in Bears franchise history for receptions by a tight end with 242. Prior to his NFL career, Clark played college football at Wake Forest, where he was twice named team MVP and second-team All-ACC. Clark finished his career at Wake Forest as the Demon Deacons’ all-time leading receiver before he was selected by Denver in the 5th round of the 1999 NFL Draft. Outside of football, Clark runs the 88 Wayz Youth Organization, which provides leadership and mentoring programs for youths in the Chicago area. He is also an accomplished motivational speaker.
