Dan Hampton is a Hall of Fame defensive tackle who spent 12 seasons in the NFL from 1997-1990 playing for the Chicago Bears. In 1979, Hampton was picked by the Bears in the 1st round out of the University of Arkansas, where he received All-American honors his senior year. In 1978, Hampton was honored as the Southwest Conference (SWC) Defensive Player of the Year and the SWC Player of the Year by the Houston Post. Hampton is a member of the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor and the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame. He was also named to the list of the state’s 50 greatest athletes of the 20th century.
