TALLAHASSEE, FL. — Seven-time Olympic medalist, Shannon Miller, was the keynote speaker on Saturday July 12 at the Women’s Wellness Day event presented by Capital Regional Medical Center. The event took place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at FSU’s Turnbull Conference Center in Tallahassee, FL. The event also included a panel discussion with physicians concerning topics specific to women’s health. Local vendors of various health-related products and services participated as well. Miller, a survivor of ovarian cancer, founded the Shannon Miller Foundation dedicated to fighting childhood obesity and is co-chair of the Florida Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness. Today she is a popular motivational speaker, and is the only American to be ranked among the top 10 all-time gymnasts. She is the only woman athlete to be inducted into the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame twice – individually in 2006 and as a team member in 2008.

Shannon Miller is a former artistic gymnast who was the 1993 and 1994 World All-Around Champion, the 1996 Olympics balance beam gold medalist, the 1995 Pan Am Games all-around champion, and a member of the gold medal-winning Magnificent 7 team at the Atlanta Olympics. The winner of a combined total of 16 World Championships and Olympic medals between 1991 and 1996, Miller ranks as the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history.
