GLASSBORO, N.J. – Former NFL star and Christian speaker, Joe Klecko, had the honor of giving the keynote speech to a group of 50 men at the Catholic Men’s Conference, held on Sept. 14 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish, in Glassboro, N.J. The conference was co-sponsored by Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish and the Knights of Columbus, St. John Neumann and Our Lady Queen of Peace councils.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Rick Carlisle, current head coach of the Dallas Mavericks and former UVa. Cavalier, was the guest speaker on Friday, September 27, at the University of Virginia. Carlisle, who returned to his old Alma mater in Charlottesville, was excited to share his experiences with UVa’s third year students during their annual traditional ring ceremony as he returned on the day that practice officially tips off for the Virginia men’s basketball team. Virginia began the ceremonial tradition for third-year students to receive their class rings about 15 years ago and annually invites a speaker with a university connection. This year Rick Carlisle held the honor.
Denver Broncos legend, John Elway, gave sports fans a treat on Friday, September 27, when he arrived at the Legrand Tailgate Party at the CEDIA Expo booth. It turns out the Hall of Famer came to talk about a new sophisticated Vantage-based control system he had installed in his home and while at he party he also talked football. According to an ESPN twitter, New York Yankees All-Star 2nd baseman, Robinson Cano, is seeking a a 10-yr $305M contract this off season. Cano, who is now a free agent, will most likely stay with the Yankees, but he plans to seek as much money as he can get. N.Y.
