Mike Piazza Delivers Mets Hall Of Fame Induction Speech

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Former Mets catcher, Mike Paizza, delivered an inspirational speech on Sunday, September 29, after the New York Mets inducted Piazza into their franchise Hall of Fame. The cermony took place at Citi Field stadium, home to the Mets, prior to the team’s game against the Brewers.

The 12-time All-Star spoke to his fans, family and teammates and everyone who supported him throughout his career. He was then presented with a plaque commemorating his becoming the 27th member of the Met’s franchise Hall of Fame.

” I want to thank the Hall of Fame committee for giving me this award,” Piazza said. ” The Mets are in my prayers, I’m pulling for them. I love this team, I think the future looks good …”

Mike Piazza is often regarded as one of the best-hitting catchers of all time. He currently holds the record for home runs hit by a catcher, with a career total of 427. He had at least one RBI in 15 consecutive games for the New York Mets in 2000, the second-longest RBI streak ever.
