Deion Sanders Named Keynote Speaker at Charity Event

SUNLAND PARK, N.M.– NFL great, Deion Sanders, is scheduled to appear as the keynote speaker on March 22, 2014, for an annual United Blood Services charity event. The Sunland Park Derby Gala benefiting UBS will be held at 6 p.m. at the Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino Signature Showroom, located at 1200 Futurity Dr, Sunland Park, NM. The Proceeds from the 11th annual gala will be used toward training and educating volunteer blood donors and coordinators as well as high school and college scholarships.

Sanders played football primarily at cornerback, but also as a kick returner, punt returner and occasionally as a running back or wide receiver. He played in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons, the San Francisco 49ers, the Dallas Cowboys, the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens, winning the Super Bowl with both the 49ers and the Cowboys. As an outfielder in baseball, he played professionally for the New York Yankees, the Atlanta Braves, the Cincinnati Reds and the San Francisco Giants, and participated in the 1992 World Series with the Braves. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on August 6, 2011.
