  • Green Bay Packers, A Team of Destiny, Win Superbowl XLV

    Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers on their win in Superbowl XLV. This year the Packers were “The Team of Destiny” bringing the Vince Lombardi trophy back home to Green Bay. Just like the New Orleans Saints were destined to win last year, this year it was the Packers’ turn. Aaron Rodgers, Superbowl XLV MVP, celebrates after winning title for The Green Bay Packers.

    The team, who won the first two super bowls, is now the winner in Superbowl XLV. The Packers beat the Steelers 31-25 in a nail biter down to the last two minutes of the game, but in the end it was Green Bay winning the super bowl for the fourth time. (more…)

    It looks like Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers may have something to celebrate since they are predicted to win this Sunday’s Super Bowl according to the Internet. It could be a happy day for Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Super Bowl Sunday if the Internet chatter trends are accurate according a social media analysis company.

  • Troy Aikman Joe Buck to Announce for 2011 Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium

    ARLINGTON, TX – Former Dallas Cowboy quarterback, Troy Aikman, along with Joe Buck will be the announcers for the 2011 Super Bowl to be held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on February 6th at 6:30 p.m. (ET). Joe Buck and Troy Aikman are set to announce The 2011 Super Bowl in Arlington Texas.

    The anticipated football game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers is set to be televised on Fox. This will be the first Super Bowl in the Cowboys new stadium.

  • Kurt Warner Speaks About Brett Favre Legacy

    Retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner told the NFL Network on Monday, Jan 3, that Brett Favre has hurt his legacy, at least in the short term. Kurt Warner, a popular speaker at PFP Talent, discusses Brett Favre legacy.

    “I think he did [tarnish his legacy],” Warner said. “Not only this season, but the last few seasons, going back and forth [on retirement] and bouncing to a few different teams. I think about it, and I have to really think hard to think back to when he was a Green Bay Packer and when he played his best football and was in Super Bowls and when he became the Brett Favre we all know.” (more…)

  • Brett Favre Officially Retires from NFL

    It’s true. Brett Favre has officially announced his retirement from the NFL on Sunday, January 2, and this time we think it’s for real.

    “I know it’s time, and that’s OK.,” Favre said after the Vikings 20-13 defeat to the Lions. “Again, I hold no regrets, and I can’t think of too many players offhand that can walk away and say that. Individually and from a team standpoint, it was way more than I ever dreamed of.”

  • Mike Singletary Fired After Blowup with Troy Smith

    Coach Mike Singletary was fired by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night December 26, after he had a blowup shouting match with his quarterback Troy Smith. Things got even more out of hand when a teammate came over and started smearing Smith’s face with a towel. Singletary lost complete control of his team.

    Last night was a culmination of two disappointing seasons, including a 5-10 showing this year for a franchise that expected to win the NFC West. Singletary had made a name for himself as a coach with that bold “I want winners!” declaration more than two years ago.

  • Brett Favre Receives Blow to Head in Vikings vs. Bears Monday Night Football (VIDEO)

    Bears defensive end Corey Wootton sacked Brett Favre with a hard blow Monday night knocking him out of the Monday night football game as Chicago led the Minnesota Vikings 17-7 at halftime.

    The injury prone quarterback’s head bounced off the frozen hard-rock turf causing a head injury. He was then replaced by rookie Joe Webb. The team said Favre’s return was doubtful. (more…)

  • “Dandy Don” Meredith Dies of Brain Hemorrhage at 72

    We  are sad to report that Don Meredith, ex Dallas Cowboy football star and broadcaster of ABC’s Original Monday Night Football, died of a brain hemorrhage Sunday, Dec. 5, at age 72.

    In a Yahoo Sports news article Meredith’s wife, Susan said her husband died in Santa Fe after suffering a brain hemorrhage and lapsing into a coma. She and her daughter were at Meredith’s side when he died. (more…)

  • Drew Brees Named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year

    Quarterback Drew Brees has been named the recipient of Sports Illustrated’s 57th Sportsman of the Year award. Drew’s notoriety comes not only from winning Super Bowl XLIV, but also from giving back hope and pride to the city of New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

    “It’s an unbelievable honor, for everything that it stands for,” Brees said of the Sports Illustrated award Tuesday morning on NBC’s Today show. “And it just makes me reflect back on the last five years in New Orleans, and the teams that I’ve had the opportunity to play for. And it’s just been a special, special journey.”

    “I needed New Orleans so badly back in 2006, just somebody to believe in me, somebody to care about me,” he said. “And that’s why myself and my wife Brittany, we just tried to throw ourselves into the community, to do our part.”

    Who can forget the image of Brees carrying his one-year old son, Baylen, onto the field after winning Super Bowl XLIV, restoring pride back to the city that so much believed in him. (more…)
